Napoletana or Neapolitan sauce is a basic, but delicious tomato sauce that can be used in various different meals. This version in particular comes from @myplacefortea and is the very first recipe that her parents taught her.
What you’ll need:
olive oil
1 shallot, chopped
garlic puree
1 tin Organico chopped Tuscan tomatoes
salt and pepper
fresh basil
tomato puree
How to make it:
In a saucepan, heat up the olive oil and gently fry off the shallot and garlic puree.
Add the chopped tomatoes and break them down using a wooden spoon.
Season well with salt, pepper and basil.
Bring the sauce to the boil and pour in the tomato puree. Leave to thicken up.
Taste if the sauce needs extra seasoning and that’s it!
Enjoy pure with some pasta or use for other meals, e.g. a nice homemade pizza.
